forgot licence shock !!
after paying for the 22nd april meeting and travelling for two hours to get to the meeting i realised (on race day ) that i had forgot my son's licence. As we were members of the club and had all the details ,and as we don't race anywhere else,i thought we would have a fine of maybe £10 - £20 ( as most clubs do ) ,you can understand my shock when i was charged £45 to enter into the race. Come on ,it's only £40 to enter in the first place, but as it stood it cost me £85 for a simple mistake ,anyone think its fair ?

Nige- 04-24-2007

Hi Al, before we discuss what is fair, where do they charge £10-£20 for non production of licence and how can you forget his licence. :?

alcat- 04-24-2007

Ok Nige ,fair comment but i have heard of people that have forgot there licence's at different circuits and it did'nt cost £45 .But as you so rightly say it was ME that forgot his licence ,and did'nt i pay the price for it,won't make THAT mistake again.

Nige- 04-24-2007

Al, my point was, HE forgot HIS licence! Chief grease monkey and sponsor doesnt need a lcence, not yet anyway! £45 is the standard non production fee from the Money Syphoning Association, I doubt if rumour control is correct. PS If I wher you mate I'd be putting the dirty crockery in the oven befor he does the washing up

Thanks for that Nige, but my son still insists it was me that forgot his licence ,as ,i suppose with some other young racers they expect there dad's to remember everything, but at least i learned what the M.S.A. actually stands for, cheer's mate. :) :)

I've been fined before for not turning up with my license, at the start of 2004 the fine was £36 so its good to see the MSA are keeping up with inflation!!!!! I'm sure that there would have been a chance that the club could have waived the fee but with MSA Stewards poking their noses around (the one we had on sunday had a very long nose by the way) the risks are just too great for the club unfortunately. Hope to see you next month - complete with license (what class/number are u by the way?) expect a 'ribbing' on commentary for this one..... 8)

Almost forgot once.
I had a near miss once and returned from almost all the way to the track to avoid the fine. Since then the license lives in the toolbox! No chance of me leaving that behind on a race weekend!

Matt Beattie, number 34 jnr TKM 2/. Wears a blue suit, the same colour as a licence wallet!

Race suit
After reading your comments about forgetting the race licence a heavy weight has just been lifted from my broad shoulders, thinking i was responsible for forgetting Seb's race suit last meeting. Hurtling 50,000 MPH in the LDV back too Penarth and getting back just in time for the practice. That cost me a couple of quid in diesel !!!!!. Nick

Re: Race suit
Nick   . See you on 26th -27th May :) :) Hey guys, I know the club needs bigger grids for JTKM at moment, but I am very sorry I won't be there next month (at least) because I've broken my arm during practice at Rissy yesterday (Sat 5th May) - Kart is also very badly damaged. It was a big crash, I barrell rolled the kart and was thrown out. Ended up in hospital. Steffan Williams JTKM number 29 Llandow Kart Club.
