You dont necesarily need to join a club just yet, so dont panic. Usually people take the ARKS test first and then join a club when they are ready to start racing (dont forget you'll need to renew your club membership in 2008). Im assuming you've joined Llandow Kart Club so if you've sent off your membership form and payment it may be worth giving Colin or Julie Lipscomb (competition secretaries) a ring to explain the situation if you dont plan on racing this year. Now that you are a member though you may as well try and get at least one race in before the end of the year :D Feel free to come to the next race meeting and speak to either Colin, Julie or Peter Jones our club secretary/Clerk of the Course (different from comp secretary) cos we're always short of helping hands Welcome to the Club 8)

Hi Guys/Girls - coming down on the 15th might be a good idea as its a practice day so you'll have lots of other drivers down there with you to get tips and advice from - its also a good day to guage your pace against the regular racers and if you ask Nigel (one of our ARKS examiners) from the Burger Van nicely - he might even watch you on track and tell you how close you are to ARKS standard - you may be closer than you think

Hi all, yeah Henry when i rang the circuit a few weeks ago to ask some novice questions (i sounded like a right twit) the lady on the phone said that because the race school was booked for this september (and im too old) and the next one will be in January (which is too late for me, cos i want to enter the celtic championship) she said the best thing to do is to come down on the open practice day and speak to Nigel and ask him to see if im good enough yet to take the arks test, do you think he will mind if i ask him? :oops: I spoke to my doctor about getting a medical done so i took that form with me to show him and his response was " For a HGV licence it costs £130, but this is not quite a HGV is it" no Doc its not *QUITE* an HGV!!!! :lol: so its now going to cost me £100 for the medical. Can anyone tell me if that is about right??????? :roll:

Im sure Nige wont mind - as long as you buy one of his bacon rolls he'll be putty in your hands. As for med costs its basically at the docs discression - i paid 65 for mine about 4 years ago - i'd try and haggle him down - they can charge anything from 20 quid to 130 if they want to

hi all, yeh i'll be down for the 15th for practice i want to get my other kart done for that date, just need a few things done. My doctor is really leanient (think that how you spell the word) he doesnt hesitate to perscribe anything :lol: , so its totally up to them how much they charge :roll: hmmmmm, think i'll be paying a visit there then soon. How much is it going to cost to get on the track for a practice? Does anyone mind taking me on as a team mate as such on the 15th? As i will probally be turnng up on my lonesome as it'll just bore my frineds and im going to be finding it hard starting the kart up myself e.t.c :( :( :roll: :roll: :?: :?:

Hi Nigel, yeah i have just had the ok from a lovely old man to say yes we are aloud to come up tomorrow (sunday 9th). i spoke to a lady at the circuit and she said we are aloud to drive from 2 o'clock so we will get there a little early to unpack and get ready. ah rite im not to sure if im going to be able to make it up tomorrow as i cant get my kart started and im waiting on some small things to come for the kart plus i dont know if i can afford it tomorrow.
