October Meeting
What do you think about the finals? Race order changed and club members cut back to 10 laps. Any veiws?

Wasn't too bothered about the race order change but not best impressed with being cut back to 10 laps to be honest and the normal race distance could of resulted in a different result in prokart ehh nige!!

Nige, I'm glad you asked! I did post a message some weeks back about the race lengths at Llandow but there was no reply to it then! I wasn't impressed with the race shortages either, race order didn't affect the Senior Max anyway being that we're always at the back of the queue anyway! One day someone will have a bright spark and will reverse the order (I'm still dreaming)! In my (non extensive) travels around other tracks I've frequently come across clubs that race 12/15 heats/finals. From my experience as a Marshall at Llandow I can confidently say that we're probably more organised than other such clubs at clearing the track after every race, so why can't we seem to have longer races? It all boils down to value for money isn't it? Of course it can't be helped when people have incidents and the paramedics get involved, that is paramount, but I suppose if the races were longer to start with one might not mind reverting to 12 laps to compensate! Did the visiting series pay more than us members did last weekend to have longer finals? Somehow I don't think so! Something else to discuss at the AGM I suppose! Dan PS. Very nice touch to finally have received the Club membership card! A whole season too late but hey, better late than never in't it?! LOL Same.

Other than that sting in the tail, it was a cracking weekend, weather was fantastic and held all day, tricky track to read in terms of grip which made for interesting racing. I hope the people involved in the incidents got away OK in the end! ...... Something I couldn't help noticing though is the fact that in Snr. Prokart you seem to mix the two classes on the grid. I thought that was not allowed. I know maybe it isn't my stall to set-up, but I can't help thinking I wouldn't like a 177Heavy be given pole on my grid! It's like putting an artificial mobile chicane on the track isn't it? I thought the heavy and light classes can co-exist on the same grid but one behind the other not mixed in that fashion? IMHO of course! Dan

Wasnt impressed at all Nige, neither were any of the OSB drivers or the people in the awnings next to us - general feeling was that the Bilands forced the issue so they could pack up and go home early and try and watch the Grand Prix while the Llandow Club members paid the price

Henry- 10-24-2007

Was even less impressed at the way the club handled the Luke/Tooty issue - couldn't help feeling that the outcome would have been much different if the drivers involved were different - still - while many would walk away from the club after being treated so badly - luke will be back trying harder than ever next month!!!!!

Henry, sometimes staying (or doing nothing) is easier than walking away. Particularly when there's few other clubs that offer Prokart racing! Heavier to shift you see! But you should know that! On the other hand... see what a difference 2 strokes makes? Never mind two strikes! What a shame though, there's good racing to be had at Llandow at times! If only off the track things were as good and competitive! I don't think there was much that could be done about the change in race order, most tracks try and accommodate the visiting series to allow the visitors to leave (and arrive home) in good time. I was only surprised that it wasn't in the program! I for one am not complaining about it, although in my visits I've never been the beneficiary of it somehow! Strange but true! So bearing in mind that they got off early and with more racing, where does that leave the LKC members? One membership card (almost 1 year out of date) better off! Dan
