tkm extreme race class, rule?
I've just been on the ABKC website and was reading up on tkm extreme class, it say that- " new designs are only permitted every three years" Can anyone give me some more insight on this subject please? Does it mean everyone races the same tkm chassis model (2005 e.t.c) :? :? :?

What it means is that every manufacturer has to run with a new chassis design homologation for 3 years and (I believe) they can only have a 1 single TKM chassis at any one time. Go down to the track this weekend Vince, the Welsh Championships are in swing and there's more people at the track than come here posting so I'm sure you'll come across someone friendly enough with a TKM to ask as many questions as you have. Don't be shy, most kart racers/mechanics are very friendly and willing to help a start-up. You could ask if you can help and that might go down quite well, that way you can learn quicker. I started in TKM but never raced in the class and moved to Senior Max after one full season. I loved the BT82 engine and the driving, but not the tyres and all that bump starting did my back in. Now I have the button is more in keeping with my age! You're welcome to give me a ring if you want for a chat, I'll share as much info as I have on the class and racing in general. Check my profile and have a look at my website, you might find it useful, if nothing else at least to find my telephone numbers! Dan

heres a tip if your buying a second hand tkm make sure it has the 'new' type nosecone because if not your kart is illigal at the end of the year. The best way to describe the old type is that it has no back to it and the new one does.
